Mesmerised

As my next trip to Florence draws near, I plot and plan and search the internet for new material and tips on where to go and what to see. And the Alinari museum seems like an absolute must. The very first post on this blog was a photo from Fratelli Alinari, which I later bought my own copy of in Florence. You can see it here. OK, it was the second post…

This time I have fallen madly in love with another image from their studios, this one above. It’s one of the most mesmerising photos I’ve ever seen. And I just might crave it enough to actually buy it, once there. If you want to see more pictures from old Firenze, or from Italy, or just good photos in general, visit the Alinari website, or click here to go directly to the Florence gallery.

There is a 50% discount until December, hint, hint 😉

Mystery solved

Yes, it’s Palazzo Vecchio. No mystery there. But suddenly my eye caught a detail I hadn’t seen before. And I realised that the building on the b/w Alinari image I posted when I first started this blog actually still looks the same. And it is Palazzo Vecchio!

These unbelievable stairs are still there. For me, who is panically scared of heights, it looks insane to climb those stairs. But as it seems it is still possible to do so if you feel the urge.

See? To the left of the tower. Wheeeee!
