I had no idea at the time, but I managed to book my last trip with perfect timing to see Piazza Santa Croce transform into a gigantic art gallery. During one November week Mimmo Paladino filled the piazza with marble in all kinds and shapes and sizes. You walked on marble, you could touch and climb and play and hide behind marble.
